Good morning everyone,
I recently challenged myself to produce a work in partnership with another artist. And for this first collaboration I decided to look to an artist very close to home, actually could not be closer: Miami based visual artist Francesco Lo Castro (http://francescolocastro.com/), who happens to be my nephew.
It is a compliment and at the same a challenge for both of us to keep our styles and blend them to create something unique. With that in mind, ‘Entangled’ was born! Still developing stages but an amazing start for what promises to be a very exciting collaboration!
Enjoy the rest of your week
Summer promises a lot! Not only I have just confirmed one group exhibition at Muse Gallery (http://www.themuseat269.com/) in July, but also I have just some other piece of fantastic news: being selected to feature in an amazing exhibition and event that will take place from the 21st June.
My work ‘L’eterno Movimento’ (The eternal movement) is going to be featured in an exhibition at the prestigious West Bank Gallery (http://www.londonwestbank.com/) as part of Art Below celebration of the Summer Solstice. If that was not good enough, posters of the selected works will be featuring at Tube Stations close to the Gallery, so if you are around Notting Hill area, specially Westbourne Park tube station you might come across a familiar image:
Enjoy your week
After a hard working week to finish my first chess set, I embarked on working on my second challenge for Purling London (http://www.purlinglondon.com/), this time taking inspiration from two previous works (‘Di lava e di fuoco’ & ‘Fiori e piume’) and combining them together. This way, the new set ‘FOGLIE E PIUME’ was born!
I decided to take the colours from works I have been know for, and departed from the classics BLACK vs WHITE chess set, giving an edge to this new set. Needless to say, it did present a big craftsmanship test, which I really enjoyed.
Hope you like the results!
Enjoy your Sunday
very exciting bank holiday here, working in a frenzy to complete my first Chess Set design for Purling London (http://www.purlinglondon.com/index.php).
Inspired by one of my works ‘Forever Autumn’ I decided to bring the spirit of Autumn to the chess board, without loosing the classy feel that Purling London has printed in their amazing previous sets. I feel honoured to been ask to produce a set, and work will start on a second one very shortly!
Enjoy it, I certainly did!
Have a great day
